Grand National. Skylark. Roadmaster. These names are iconic among American cars, and they have one thing in common: they are all Buicks.
David Dunbar Buick incorporated the Buick Motor Company in 1903, and the car maker has upheld its history of innovation very well since then. In fact, the success of this company began with the overhead valve engine, which was later advertised as the valve-in-head engine, and it continued from there, with Buick eventually becoming not only the largest car manufacturer in the US, but also the base for the General Motors Corporation.
Both before and after the creation of GM, Buick was a pioneer in the automobile industry, bringing its use sweepspears, hardtops, portholes and muscle cars into commonality, and becoming an integral part of American culture.
The company's innovation continues today, with it's LaCrosse and Lucerne sedans, Terraza minivan, and the soon-to-be released luxury SUV the Buick Enclave.
